A Spanish interior design student who won €2 million in a contest to design a new theme park in Mexico won a third prize in a competition organized by a local Mexican organization, Spanish media reported.
Borjero Rodriguez, 22, won the $2.3 million prize for the design of the El Centro park in the city of Villa Clara.
His theme is based on a traditional Mexican home, and the park will include a new area for visitors to explore, according to La Nación de la Universidad de Villa Clara, the regional arm of the city’s city government.
Rodriguez, who lives in the town of El Centrowater, had already worked on the design for the city park before he entered the competition, which had started in December.
He had won $1.6 million in 2012 and $1 million in 2013 for the El Cidor theme park.
The Villa Clara area has a population of about 30,000 people.
